Redware
OCADU Final Masters
First Place Winner
The Canadian Red Cross asked us to create an at home CPR & First Aid learning tool. From this we developed Redware, a line of multifunctional homeware products. Each product in the line can be used for the typical household use, as well as a First Aid & CPR training, teaching and emergency implementation tool.
Made in collaboration with Kevin Valladares Doño,
THE HEAT STROKE WATER GLASS
This glass teaches you how much water to give someone who is suffering from heat stroke.
THE HEART ATTACK CHAIR
This chair teaches how to properly position someone who is having a heart attack.
THE CPR GARDENING GLOVES
These gloves teach the proper hand position for CPR compressions and click when hands have been placed in the correct position.
THE CPR CLOCK
This clock has the conventional three hands, as well as a CPR hand that beats at 100 ticks per minute, keeping you on track for effective compressions.
THE SLING GROCERY BAG
This grocery bag can convert into a sling for
breaks and sprains.
THE HYPERVENTILATION STRAW
This straw can be used to practice breathing when experiencing a mental health crisis.
THE CHILD SAFETY BIB
This safety bib demonstrates how to help a baby who
is choking.
THE GAUZE PLACEMAT
THE CHIP CLIP TOURNIQUET
This chip clip can be used for for stopping major bleeds, as well as closing your snack bags.
This placemat can be torn into strips of gauze to wrap cuts and scrapes.
THE FLEXIBLE ICE TRAY
This flexible ice tray can be wrapped around limbs for bone, muscle or joint injuries.
THE CPR FLOOR PILLOW
This floor pillow is made of a thick, foam-like material that resembles the same resistance as a CPR dummy. When practicing compressions, the pillow will make a clicking noise to indicate the correct amount of pressure is being used.
PACKAGING
Redware products will be sold in packaging that can be converted into cardboard VR goggles. Using a corresponding serial code on the bottom of the box, users will be able to access video tutorials relating to the product they purchased. After watching the selected video, more videos utilizing the other Redware products will be suggested.
REDWARE IN THE DIGITAL WORLD
REDWARE IN THE PHYSICAL WORLD
Pop-up shops along with vending machines will be placed throughout Canada which will allow Canadians to test out and learn more about the Redware line. Pop-up shops will be made to immerse the user in a home like experience, to show just how seamlessly CPR & First Aid training can fit into your home.
